What is the Playit DJ Request App?
The DJ Request App is a tool that helps DJs manage song requests, engage with the crowd, and streamline communication with event organizers. It focuses on simplicity, speed, and real-time control during live events.
Is the DJ Request App free to use?
Guests can submit requests for free. DJs and organizers can access core features for free and premium feature with with a monthly subscription.
Does the app work without internet?
Yes. The desktop app reads from your local music library and continues functioning even with poor or no internet.
Can DJs host their own events using the app?
Yes. DJs can create events, generate QR codes, and manage requests directly from the app.
How do I get support or report an issue?
Support is available through the in-app help center or by contacting your event organizer.
How do I request a song at an event?
Scan the event QR code or tap the shared link. Create and account — just enter your song and optional dedication.
Can I vote for songs?
Yes. You can upvote songs already requested by others to help DJs prioritize crowd favorites.
Can I request a specific song that’s not in the DJ’s library?
You can, but the DJ may not play it if it’s not available locally or doesn’t fit the event’s vibe.
How do I know if my request was played?
You’ll receive an automatic update when your request is marked as Played, Queued, or Declined.
Why was my request declined?
Requests may be declined if:
- The song doesn’t fit the organizer’s preferences
- It doesn’t match the crowd’s energy
- It’s not available in the DJ’s local library
How do I see what song is currently playing?
The “Now Playing” screen shows the current track, the last 3–5 songs, and voting ranks.
Can I see the DJ’s upcoming queue?
Only if the DJ enables queue visibility. Some DJs prefer to keep the queue private.
How do I submit a pre-event request?
If enabled, you’ll receive a link before the event to submit songs early.
Can I check in for birthdays or special shout-outs?
Yes. The RSVP form allows you to add birthdays or dedications so the DJ can be reminded during the event.
How does the request queue work?
Requests are sorted by:
- Popularity (votes)
- Compatibility (genre, vibe, timing)
- Organizer preferences
DJs can mark requests as Played, Queued, or Declined.
Can I customize what the crowd sees?
Yes. DJs can toggle visibility for:
- Now Playing
- Song history
- Voting ranks
- Upcoming queue (optional)
How do organizer preferences work?
Organizers can set:
- Must-play songs
- Do-not-play list
- Genre priorities
- Shout-out permissions
DJs can switch between Organizer Priority and Crowd Priority modes.
Does the app integrate with my DJ software?
The MVP supports local music folder syncing. Full integrations (Serato, Rekordbox, etc.) are planned for Phase 2.
Can I use the app on my phone?
Yes, mostly use in your phone soon for PC
Does the app require internet?
Yes for:
- Pre-event submissions
- Voting
- Request updates
The core DJ interface works offline.
How does the app know which songs I’ve played?
In the MVP, DJs manually mark songs as Played. Automatic detection will be added in Phase 2.
What devices are supported?
- Windows & Mac desktop apps
- Mobile web for guests
- Optional casting to external screens for Now Playing (soon)
What if guests don’t want to register?
No registration is required. Guests can request songs instantly via QR code or SMS link. (feature not available yet)
